The department facilitates the students to pursue an undergraduate course and secure a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a postgraduate course in Power Systems Control & Automation with an intake of 18. The intake in B.Tech has also been enhanced to 120. The faculty guides the students through the annals of this discipline which is multi-faceted covering various fields, to name a few, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Electrical Measurements, Power Electronics, and Control systems.
The laboratories are well equipped and sufficiently staffed for the applications of the theories to satisfy the curiosity of the students. The department consists of Electrical Mechanics Lab, Networks Lab and Control Systems Lab & Power Electronics & Power Systems Lab. The licensed software used is PSCAD.
The department initiates all student chapter activities of the Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – IEEE, which is a global authority on standardization of all aspects of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering. As part of this, a symposium named ‘CYNOSURE’ is conducted every year.
To be reckoned as a world class facility that would provide value added Human Resource in the field of Electrical &Electronics Engineering meeting the quality demands of Industry, Teaching Institutes and Research Organizations worldwide.
