Independence Day

Independence Day is celebrated on 15th August in the campus premises. It begins with Flag hoistation by the Director, followed by the National Anthem and other patriotic songs. Independence Day speeches are delivered by students and faculty members. The college campus reverberates with patriotic songs and wears a festive look with tri-coloured flag, trinkets and tri-coloured ribbons everywhere.

Prior to the Independence Day celebrations, the organizing committee co-ordinates with the students and faculty members to conduct competitions, students actively take part in skits, patriotic songs and speeches.

The first Independence Day celebrations were started by the first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. He delivered his first speech “Tryst with Destiny” to the Indian Constituent Assembly in The Parliament, on the eve of India’s Independence, towards midnight on 14th August 1947. It is considered to be one of the greatest speeches of all time and to be a landmark oration that captures the essence of the triumphant culmination of the largely non-violent Indian independence struggle against the British empire in India.

Republic Day

The Republic Day is celebrated on January 26th of every year. The first Republic Day in India was celebrated on 26thJanuary, 1950 when India formed its constitution and executed. It is another opportunity for faculty and students to uphold their commitment as responsible citizens of India and derive inspiration from the great leaders and intellectuals whose vision has guided this nation on the path of progress.

      

Teacher's day

Teachers’ Day is celebrated on 5th September every year to pay tributes to the teaching Fraternity. It is a day for the teachers to retrospect and introspect the teaching and learning process. The noble profession ‘Teaching’ is incomplete without ‘learning’ hence, it is equally important for every teacher to become a disciple to learn and unlearn. ‘Teaching’, the mother of all Professions is the most noble and inspiring profession which makes the world a place to live. It churns and chisels and produces professionals of various fields. Education begins with life and continues to become eternal.

On Teachers’ Day, eminent teachers are invited and honoured. Students express their reverence and love through their tributes to the teachers by organizing various programmes under the aegis of the Head of the Institution. The management distributes certificates and gifts as a token of appreciation to the faculty members.

Engineer's day

The birthday of Bharat Ratna Sir Moksha GundamVishveswaraiah is celebrated on 15th September as Engineer’s Day. Lectures are organized. It is an opportunity to honour and pay tributes to famous Engineers.

Family Day/ATRI Day

The ATRI Day is a unique get-together organized every year during November / December to have all the families of the staff to interact with one another. It is an opportunity for every one to know each other to strengthen personal as well as professional relationships among themselves and their families.

Women’s Day

International Women's Day is celebrated the world over, every year on 8th of March. It is an occasion to express adulation to womanhood and pay tribute to the indomitable spirit of women across the globe. It also accentuates the contribution of women to make this world a better place. It also signifies the journey of women over the centuries to be more vocal against oppression and discrimination. The tradition of honouring mothers, wives, sisters and colleagues should be followed all over the world to commemorate the sacrifices made by women for their family and their profession.
